Winter Curriculum
City Ballet of Iowa's curriculum aims to provide dancers with a rich knowledge of classical technique and the ability to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance. Our curriculum has been designed to insure the proper development of the skills required at the designated level. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide students with the skills necessary to enter the field of professional dance.
City Ballet of Iowa is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 7 will be taught by ABT® Affiliate Teacher Sarah Barragan and Certified Teacher Eloy Barragan who have successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
